Home again [25 Sep 2004|01:22pm]
Looks like I'm home again.

The tavern needs a new roof though.

But first, I could use a drink.

Anyone else need one?

Also.

Goat ate the socks I bought for Albus. Sure he won't miss them. Nice thick wool socks.

Nothing can be more terifying terriffying scary than a crowd of young people being forced to socialize with other young people of the opposite sex.
Except drunk young people socializing with other young people of the opposite sex.

Just some things [19 Mar 2004|11:55pm]
Well now. St.Patrick's day has left me with a lot of conclusions.

1. Certain of the staff should never, under any circumstances, be put in a social situation together. Ever.

2. And if they are in said situation, do not give them alcohol.

The above are both very bad ideas.
I'm sure that separatly they're managable, even with alcohol. But not together.

I have nothing against them. They're fine young people. The term young is a relevant on. But they don't really get along very well.

I've probably said too much.
But even the bartender has to say something now and then.

Goats and the Loss of Galleons. [17 Mar 2004|10:41am]
[ mood | Grumpy. And Festive. Worried. ]

So. It's St.Patrick's Day. A day when so many people celebrate.
Celebrate by going to taverns. And spend absurd amounts of money.
Taverns like the Hog's Head.
So many galleons lost. So many.

Just thought I'd mention it.

And Goat still isn't well yet. Poor deer dear. But she is better than she was. And that's a good thing.

If the staff would like to come to the Hog's Head tonight, the doors will be open for only you. Without the silly entrance dance this time.
Or saturday would work also.
Leave your money pouch at home.

Well, well. [13 Mar 2004|12:11pm]
Goat. Is grounded.

She came back on her own. I knew she would.

Though it looks like she has been eating large quantities of things that she's not supposed to be eating in large quantities. And now she's sick from it.

So, grounded.

That seems to be the sum of what I have to say.

You know that feeling you get when your children haven't come home? For a few days? [09 Mar 2004|02:49pm]
[ mood | worried ]

How is it possible that an entire goat, a full grown adult female goat, can go missing?

She was in the office with me a few days ago. And then she wasn't. And now she is gone. She hasn't come back yet.

And it's been a few days now.

She should be back by now.

Maybe I haven't paid her enough attention. Maybe she ran away and I'll never see her again.

Well, I suppose I would deserve that. It would serve me right for not paying any attention to her, and trying to do this job that Albus has trusted me with.

Which reminds me of something.

It seems that Drago Malfoy is upset about something. I'm sort of curious as to what that would be.

Perhaps I haven't been paying as much attention to anything as I should have been.

If anyone sees Goat, let me know. Right away.

A wee bit out of touch [19 Feb 2004|12:11pm]
[ mood | blank ]

I don't know Albus does this job.

I've been very busy with all the this and that which goes along with this job.

And I'm fairly certain that I've probably neglected a few of those thises and thats.

I suddenly feel like I've been missing something this whole time, can't quite put my finger on it.

Ah, and Goat seems to have found a few stray socks and is happily devouring them. Silly Goat.

I am starting to miss my tavern though.

Things are changing [30 Dec 2003|07:41pm]
Well, it would seem that things are changing a bit.

Albus is going away. And he asked me to keep an eye on things at the school. And I said yes. Not right away, I thought about it first, obviously.

So, I am closing the Hogshead. I sort of wish I could be around to see the reactions to that. Except that if I were there, I would have to open up again.

Well, this will be a change. A good change.

Goat is happy too.

Holidays [21 Dec 2003|02:50pm]
If there is one thing that can be said about the holidays, it is that there is always someone at the tavern. Good for business.
But shouldn't they be with their familes? Granted, the people that come here are probably not the type to have families, or get along with them.
Well, it pays my bills, so should I really be complaining?
Speaking of family, I sent a letter to Albus, I don't know if he got it or not. He's probably buys, what with students leaving and all.
Goat may have eaten it. She's been acting rather smug lately, like she's eaten something important.

Just things. [10 Dec 2003|01:56am]
[ mood | tired ]

There was a rather bold mouse in the tavern today, after closing. I watched it walk right across the bar, bold as brass, and lick up a spill from a tipped over shot glass. And then it just scampered away again. I suspect that it will probably be eaten by and owl or a cat or some other such thing.
I was just amused by it's boldness really, walking out in front of me like it owns the place.
Sometimes you miss the little interactions with nature. Well, I have Goat, but she's tame and sometimes not very exciting.
I should go mountain climbing again.

Bills have been paid. Very good. Won't have to worry about them for another month. Very good.

That chair in the corner still hasn't broken. I know I should repair it, but part of me wants to see who will be sitting in it when if finally breaks.
I should fix it.
I will.
If it doesn't break by next week.
Altough, if it's not going to break, does it need to be fixed? If it's not broke, don't fix it. Right?

Well, believe it is about time that the kids up at the school will be coming to visit the village. I expect that will mean a subtle boost in business.
I think, for the most part, the Three Broomsticks is the hang out of choice. To the younger students anyway. Older students come here.
And students that are up to something.
Sneaky kids. Always up to something. Don't know how Albus keeps up with them all.
Sneaky brother.

Ah, well, it would appear that it is time to turn in for the night, Goat has decided to start chewing on my robes.
Must find goat repellant. Or take goat for a walk. Walk sounds easier.

Should also go visit Albus. If I ever find time.

A List [01 Dec 2003|02:44pm]
[ mood | awake ]

I have so much to do and so little time.

Bills to pay this month. So many bills come with running a tavern. Very frustrating sometimes, all the bills. Come to think of it, this a lot of paperwork that I have to go through. Bills. Lisences. Tax, oh so much tax. How is one to make a decent living with all that tax? It's simply maddening.
(And the customers don't seem to like it either.)

Also, must repair that one chair in the far corner. It's going to break any day now. Maybe I should wait until it does break. Haven't had a chair break yet. Might liven the place up a bit. Well, it's plenty lively here. A breaking chair might be a change is all, not that things are ever the same here. Lots of interesting people in here.
Though, I don't really care for some of the business that gets done here. Some of it seems pretty shady.

Should talk to Albus sometime soon. Good brother, he is. But a very busy man. Running that school and the other things he's involved in. Yes, a very busy man. And still finds time to have a cup of tea by himself. Amazing.
Strange like for socks when he was younger though. Never saw the point myself.

Goat needs a friend. I'm too busy to take care of a goat. So why would I get her a friend? Odd way of thinking. I can't take care of one goat, why would I be able to take care of two?
Well, I just don't want her to be lonely I guess. She's a good goat.

Must chatch up with other, non-tavern or Goat related issues. Have missed several of those sort of meetings. I've been busy!

I need a vacation. Maybe some mountain climbing. Never too old for that. They say one hundred and ten is too old. Well, they're wrong.
