Dobby hears a lot of things that go on around the castle. Most wizards and witches forget that Dobby is there. Dobby is a good elf. Dobby keeps it to himself.
There are plots everywhere, Dobby hears. Plots to make bad things happen. Plots to make good things happen. Plots for wizards to kiss witches. Plots for wizards to hurt other wizards.
Dobby found another hat today. Dobby likes hats. Dobby wears hats and socks everyday.

It is difficult.
Dobby wonders what he could write that would be important or interesting. Dobby fears he is boring. Dobby only does what he is told to do. Cook, clean, wash socks.
Dobby does it all for Headmaster Dumbledore. Headmaster Dumbledore gave Dobby a job when no one else would. Dobby is grateful to Headmaster Dumbledore. More than he could ever repay him.
Dobby wonders when he will get to see Harry Potter again.
